I started Mission: Dinner about six months ago, on the cusp between summer and fall. As we move into spring, this glorious season of renewal, I thought it would be a good time to check in.
And so, I’d love to hear: How can I make this newsletter even more fun and valuable for you?
Feel free to respond directly, or if you only have one minute, answer the questions below!
Thank you so much for being here!
I appreciate all the recipes you’ve created thus far as well as the posts that accompany them. I have felt that the 5 ingredient rule is too limiting though.
What's been delightful (and consistent!) is how easily these recipes fit into my regular weeknight repertoire. I've made maybe five or six of them, possibly more -- I'm doing the shrimp and grits tonight -- and they're such a useful sub into my loosey-goosey meal plan. I like having a few of these I can just do whenever, like the tortellini en brodo, which for some reason I'd never thought to do.
I love the substitution ideas. I don't care if there are more than 5 ingredients; I kind of agree that it seems unnecessarily limiting. I *do* care if there are more than 5 ingredients that are not something I already stock (this is individual/I'm a pantry maximalist, but this is my truth). I'll buy amchur powder or maesil cheong if I'm spending time with a specific cookbook but for one-off recipes I will look for a substitution.
I love recipes that point me to a new cookbook!
